I carved this super unique jade thin enough to allow the translucency when held to the sun. It is sage green with mossy black veins throughout. Introducing Hammered Hoop Earrings! Glittering in silver. One by one I sculpt each hoop from a straight piece of wire. I use my hands and tools to shape the initial circle and then I slowly add the texture with my hammer. I’m making ingots out of silver scrap that I will roll into wire. First I gather the scrap, then I melt it in a crucible, once it is molten I carefully pour it into an ingot mold, and then upon opening that mold I get to see if I succeeded (not always this beautiful!). It makes a thick round rod that I now will roll through my rolling mill and once small enough I will draw through a wire plate to the desired gauge.
