Glittering hammered hoop earrings. One by one I sculpt each hoop earring from a straight piece of wire. I fist shape the hoop and then I slowly add the hammered texture with my hammer. It takes time and a feel for working metal to keep the circle from becoming misshapen. I have kept a handmade feel to the hoops and allowed for slight variation rather than aiming for machine-made perfection and they wind up looking beautiful and unique.
These hoops have a simple post and hole closing. To avoid cumbersome closures I have simplified the closing and used the springy hardness that happens after hammering metal to hold the post into the catch.
This is the Medium size (about 1 1/2 inch wide).
