I carved a large inverted drop shape for this necklace, the jade is colorful with a variety of shades of green. I sourced the jade locally and carved it thin because I knew it would create a stained glass effect when held to the light. To finish it, I created a flourish of hammered silver that adds a glittering attachment to the silver chain. This special jade was found in Mendocino County, in northern California. It is a translucent pale green and white color with veins of darker green and dots of black.
Pendant is approximately 1 1/2 inch long, comes on 18″ sterling silver chain.
Nephrite Jade (California), Sterling Silver.
