A large oval of petrified dinosaur bone is set below a copper and silver sun, the top bail is textured to echo the pattern within the stone. The gemstone is a dark red, reminiscent of redwood trees. I carved the gem in my studio and it was found in the deserts of Utah.
Petrified dinosaur bone is formed over millions of years as the original bone material slowly dissolves away, new minerals flow into the open spots and crystallize.
The stone is approximately 1 1/4″ long and the entire pendant approximately 2 1/4″, it hangs on an 18″ sterling silver chain.
