Rutilated Quartz Golden Grass Ring

Description

This is an enchanting drop of quartz that holds golden threads of rutile. Rutilated quartz is quartz that contains needles of other minerals, in this case they are golden. I surrounded this stone in a 14K  gold bezel setting to compliment the rutile and backed it with silver so that light will reflect through and show the phenomenal needles. This gem was cut by a local lapidary artist and he beautifully oriented the rutile so that it travels diagonally across the drop.  It is set on a minimal silver ring band. The gem is approximately 13x12mm and the ring band is 3mm wide with a smooth polish finish.
