This is green jade from Wyoming, I bought a large chunk and then sawed it, shaped it and polished it into this pretty oval. It’s a nice pure green with some white mineral inclusions towards the bottom of the piece.
This necklace is delicate and strong and I hammered a glittering silver accent, drilled the stone and made a tiny silver rivet to hold it onto an 18″ silver chain. The jade is approximately 1″ long.
Nephrite jade is found in the center of Wyoming and is the official state gemstone, the Wyoming variety is mostly green and often has mineral inclusions that create dots and other patterns in different greens, whites, and grey.
