This jade drop is cut from a chunk of rough Wyoming jade that I bought from a miner. The nephrite jade found in Wyoming often has a “snowflake” pattern which means it was inclusions of white minerals. This stone has a storm of white snowflakes in the green jade and also a couple of veins of beige streaking across diagonally. It’s a totally unique stone. I fabricated an individual silver prong setting to have minimal metal and allow the gem to be the main feature; I added hammered texturing on the back on the setting so when you flip it over you see a little added sparkle.
Gemstone is approximately 40mm x 30mm or 1 1/8″ x 1 1/2″, it hangs on an 18″ silver cable chain.
