I got my hands on some Mendocino County, Ca jade! The west coast from Central America into Canada has deposits of this gem and the colors vary with shades of green, white, black, and even lavender. The jade found in Mendocino county seems to be a mixture of white and green and I’m excited to see how the swirls look in these two pieces of rough jade. I am at the workbench and building bezel settings for some new jade and turquoise that I finished cutting and polishing. The stones look shiny and colorful and I am excited to turn them into new jewelry. This photo is just one step of the process: I have already measured, formed, and soldered the bezels and now I am preparing to attach them to the backing silver.
