Petrified Dinosaur Bone Pendant – Copper and Silver

Description

This pendant features a piece of petrified dinosaur bone, set in sterling silver with a hammered circle of copper above. I textured a pattern into the silver at the top to echo the texture in the stone. The color is a dark red, reminiscent of redwood. I carved the gem in my studio and it was found in the deserts of Utah.

Petrified dinosaur bone is formed over millions of years as the original bone material slowly dissolves away, new minerals flow into the open spots and crystallize.

The stone is approximately 1/2″ in diameter and the pendant hangs on an 18″ sterling silver chain.
