Petrified Dinosaur Bone Pendant – Redwood Night

Description

A crescent moon hangs above a long oval of petrified dinosaur bone, set in sterling silver, I hammered the moon for a little extra sparkle. The gemstone is a dark red, reminiscent of redwood trees. I added subtle tree-like branches along the bottom half of the stone. I carved the gem in my studio and it was found in the deserts of Utah.

Petrified dinosaur bone is formed over millions of years as the original bone material slowly dissolves away, new minerals flow into the open spots and crystallize.

The stone is approximately 1 1/8″ long and the entire pendant approximately 2″,  it hangs on an 18″ sterling silver chain.
