Best of WY! art exhibit

Written June 18, 2013

I just got accepted to a juried art exhibit, “Best of WY!”, that will be hanging in Jackson Hole, June 28-Aug 2, 2013, at the Center for the Arts in the main gallery of the building. I will be submitting a silver and amethyst bracelet and a group of four lockets:

I am so excited and honored to be in the show and look forward to seeing all of the other participants’ work.

Pinterest and Culture Front

Written May 31, 2013

I’ve joined Pinterest after seeing the fun my friends have on it. You can find my page and boards here:

So many images and ideas inspire me when I’m looking through art and design webpages. Since I live in an isolated area of Wyoming this is how I feed my hunger for seeing art. I’m so far away from big museums and super new ideas. However, Meg Daly in Jackson Hole runs a great art blog about this area called Culture Front. She seeks to bring attention to what it means to be an artist in the American West today:

Sadly, Culture Front is no longer online but you can find Meg Daly’s writing on many pages online.

Custom Rose Gold Ring

Written May 17, 2013

Sometimes a customer wants a certain twist on one of my rings and I can make a custom version for her or him. This is a 6mm 14K Rose Gold band with a satin finish, what is different is that it has a domed look rather than my usual flatter band.

And it still is snowing…

Written April 22, 2013

So, living in Wyoming means about 8 months of winter. The snow is coming down heavily today, April 22.  But after living here over a decade I’m finally used to it.  Anyway to get through this time of year I often do indoor projects, this weekend I decided to devote my craft skills to making a new skirt. (those are my gas tanks for soldering in the background).

In the shop I’ve been busy…I recently made a Rose Window Necklace which some say look like snowflakes. I have made earrings and necklaces each with these hand sawn one-of-a-kind circles.  They are inspired by beautiful Gothic cathedrals’ rose windows. Contact me if you would like me to e-mail once more are available isabel @ isabeljewelry.com

Another recent project is this gorgeous rainbow moonstone ring with turquoise. The moonstone is clear yet has a super irridescent flash, really a pretty stone. It is available for sale here: http://www.isabeljewelry.com/products/magic-irridescent-rainbow-moonstone-ring

Speaking of magical gemstone flash, I custom made a fun pair of earrings last week. The customer had bought the opal in Australia 20 years ago and finally wanted it set in asymetrical earrings.

Springtime in Wyoming…stay busy.
