It’s Holiday Time?! Happy Thanksgiving!

Posted November 12, 2015

What?! It’s mid November? Holidays are upon us! So I am madly working away in the shop to bump up my inventory and bust out custom orders. It’s always a busy time for me but I know that I get a rest in January. I recently pulled out some gorgeous chalcedony beads that I recently purchased from a gem dealer and began a small grouping of holiday party drop earrings (see below).

My husband and I have been cutting and polishing some wonderful and colorful green Wyoming jade in all sorts of shapes (pictured below in one of our first dustings of snow).

I’ve made a couple of one-of-a-kind groupings of Australian magnesite (below) and Peruvian pink opal pendants (pictured at top of this post).

Both the magnesite and pink opal were bought during the Tucson gem shows a couple of years ago and it’s been fun to finally use them. Each stone has it’s own little personality: the pink opals are a classic pure pink, girly and serene, and each piece of cream colored magnesite is totally unique with brown veins making an interesting and natural matrix.

Also, I recently made some hammered rings with different faceted gemstones. Mixing and matching colors.

As we head toward Thanksgiving, I hope your holiday season shapes up to be the best ever. Peace!

Here Comes Summer!

Written May 27, 2014

Summer is fast approaching. Life in Pinedale, Wyoming goes from winter to summer in an instant, it was snowing 2 weeks ago and now it’s in the 70’s, the grass is getting green and already needs to be cut. Our corner of the USA is heaven on Earth in the summertime, wilderness and wildlife abound and the sky is huge and blue.

I always look forward to chatting with tourists on road-trips that stop by my shop and backpackers heading into the Wind River Range for an exciting trip. This past weekend we camped out for the first time this season and then floated the Green River for 13 miles in our canoe with friends. The river is covered with birds this time of year since they are all migrating north. What an amazing place.

Happy Holidays!

Written December 11, 2013

The jewelry store is packed with jewelry and artwork. Each year this time I like to have a large amount of jewelry for people to choose from. I tend to experiment with colors and shapes and gemstones so I find that there is a good variety of thoughts going on.

I just hung up 18 calligraphy paintings by a local artist Charmian McLellan on Monday. We’ll be having a reception for her on Saturday 5-8, Dec. 14, 2013.

Hope everyone has a wonderful season and good winter and happy new year!

New Gemstone Earrings

Written October 24, 2013

I recently purchased a pile of beautiful gemstones. Last week I hosted a Ladies Night at my store and revealed dozens of new earrings. Each pair is different and the gems are transparent and sparkly, crystaly and colorful. I will post a few on this site but in the meantime here is a quick photo:

Pictured here is a mix of: rose quartz, amethyst, turquoise, amber, citrine, flourite, garnet, aquamarine, jade and peridot. All on handmade silver earring wires.

Best of WY! art exhibit

Written June 18, 2013

I just got accepted to a juried art exhibit, “Best of WY!”, that will be hanging in Jackson Hole, June 28-Aug 2, 2013, at the Center for the Arts in the main gallery of the building. I will be submitting a silver and amethyst bracelet and a group of four lockets:

I am so excited and honored to be in the show and look forward to seeing all of the other participants’ work.
